The programme is made up of almost entirely Italian music by Boccherini, Verdi (more known for his operas than for chamber music) and 20th century composer Gian Francesco Malipiero. Mozart, who had travelled three times to Italy as a teenager with his father and also visited Venice, is also on the programme. On February 21st, the Quartetto di Venezia will travel to the National Gallery, Dublin and perform this programme, presented by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in connection with the Canaletto exhibition, which is currently running there.
