On the eve of Ernest Hemingway's departure to cover the Spanish Civil war in 1937, he met Great Gatsby author, Scott Fitzgerald, in Tim Costello's bar, New York. No one knows what transpired at this meeting - until now. Hemingway was enjoying international celebrity as a writer and adventurer, while Fitzgerald's fame, on the slide, rested more on his notoriety for bad behaviour in drink (except among the more discerning critics!) Against the atmospheric background of New York in the thirties, BULLFIGHT ON THIRD AVENUE explores the competitive, uneasy friendship between these two literary titans.
