Wexford town will once again play host to Wexford Festival Fringe, the largest annual fringe festival in the South East of Ireland, from Friday, 19th October to Sunday, 4th November, marking the festival's 60th birthday.
Wexford Festival Fringe has become a vital showcase for Irish arts nationally and internationally. The festival, which runs concurrently with the Wexford Opera Festival, delivers the very best in Irish and international visual art, classical and traditional music, theatre and dance, literature, craft, children’s events and much more. For the past 59 years, both festivals have transformed Wexford into a vibrant centre of cultural activity and expression, attracting an estimated 50,000 visitors from all over Ireland and abroad each year and 2012 will be no exception.
