On the 10th of August, it will be lights, camera, action for the 3rd annual UnderGround Short Film Festival. What started off as a 7 day festival, which squeezed almost 70 shorts from 9 countries into 5 cramped screenings in year one, had in year two ballooned to a nine day event, which contained 14 screenings of 110 shorts across 6 venues. And this year is going to be bigger and better than ever.

The UnderGround Short Film Festival has had people laugh out-loud during the comedy nights, and literally jump out of their seats at the horror screenings. What big budget films do in a 2-hour film, short films do the same in a fraction of the time!

There are categories for all tastes. From regulars, such as Drama, Comedy, Documentary and Experimental to more unusual sections such as Sci-Fi, Horror and Animation. The UnderGround Short Film Festival is also among the only festivals in the country to have Spanish and Polish language sections.

As a special addition to this year’s lineup, the festival will have talks and workshops from seasoned film industry professional to help young filmmakers achieve their dream: A film on the big screen.

The 2013 UnderGround Short Film Festival will start with an official Launch Party on Saturday 10th August, and run until the Awards Night on Saturday 17th August. Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are from €8, and are available to buy through the website https://www.undergroundshortfilmfestival.com/#!tickets/c1zui
