Music For Middlebrows, the radio programme he presented for thirty five years, was one of the most popular ever on Irish radio.
Des’ wife Geraldine O Grady is an internationally acclaimed violinist, a long-time musical ambassador for Ireland and a great favourite with audiences in this country.
Oonagh Keogh, daughter of Des and Geraldine, is one of the leading violinists of her generation and a member of the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
