The Irish Maritime Festival is a spectacular celebration of all things seafaring and includes water displays, the first ever Boyne swimming race, seagoing schooners, a food village, street and theatre performances, a maritime museum and educational areas. A feast of maritime fun is planned including the Boyne Boat Race, show-stopping watersports, a Boyne swim and a maritime pavilion. There will also be a wide range of cultural and family entertainments to coincide with the arrival to Drogheda Port of six classic sailing ships of a bygone era.

Festival goers will be spoiled for choice with funfairs on the quays, boat and canoe trips on the river, stunning watersport displays, boat-building workshops and stand-up paddle boarding races.

Onshore at the Port a revamped warehouse will be transformed into the maritime pavilion, featuring a temporary beach area and a real food village celebrating local artisan food producers, along with art, photography, maritime history and kids play zones.
