To mark the launch of the Clare Memory Orchestra’s partnership with the Arts Office of Clare County Council, a new festival featuring some of Ireland’s most talented traditional and classical musicians takes place around County Clare from June 22nd - 30th.

The festival includes three evening concerts, two free lunchtime concerts, free workshops and sessions with members of the Clare Memory Orchestra spread throughout the county including Ennistymon, Kilrush, Ennis and Kilkee.

The festival kickstarts with a concert in the Teach Cheoil in Ennistymon on Sat. June 22nd featuring Artistic Director Dave Flynn (guitar) and members of the Clare Memory Orchestra along with special guests Mary Bergin (whistle) and Johnny Óg Connolly (accordion). The concert includes the Clare premiere performance of a new suite entitled ‘Sruth’ composed by Mary Bergin and Johnny Óg Connolly. This concert also features Clare Memory Orchestra members Jack Talty (concertina / piano) and Neil O’Loghlen (double bass) from Clare along with Eilis Lennon (fiddle), Niamh Varian-Barry (violin/voice), Eimear McGeown (flute), Neil Yates (trumpet), Aidan Dunphy (percussion), Ciara NíBhríain (viola), Cormac Ó’Briain (cello) and internationally renowned South African conductor Bjorn Bantock.
