Ricky Gervais is set to make his return to stand up with his angriest show yet.

Gervais, who has made a name for himself on the big and little screen has just finished filming 'The Muppets' sequel yesterday and his new show 'Derek' is due to hit our screens shortly. The last stand up tour Gervais did was in 2009 but only received a lukewarm reception so he is hoping to make more of an impact with this new show. Speaking to Radio Times Gervais said of his upcoming show, which is to be titled 'Humanity', that 'I think it will be my angriest yet. I don’t care any more. I’ve realised that nothing can affect you. All the criticism - sticks and stones - it doesn’t matter. I don’t feel bulletproof that I’ll never make a mistake or that I’ll always command the biggest fee. I feel bulletproof in that if I get my own way I’ll be happy with the product'

'It’s an excuse to be pompous. I chose it because the character I play on stage – it’s like I know everything. So I go out there and it’s like I’m teaching [the audience] a lesson and of course I get things wrong' he added.

The comic also revealed he hopes to make a second series of 'Derek' 'Whether C4 want it or not I’m doing another six'.. Derek is set to air on the 30th January.
