‘Ms. Guerin’s concept seems a genuine crowd pleaser… there were cheers and actual gasps… as well as plenty of laughter’ The New York Times
Lucy Guerin returns to Dublin Dance Festival with a quirky, irreverent theatrical experience.
Four men take to the stage in Untrained. Two are experienced dancers and two have no movement training at all. All are given the same instructions – from basic dance moves to acting out scenes from films. Unavoidable and sometimes humorous comparisons arise between them, but this warm and big-hearted show doesn’t mock. Instead it examines how their physical histories set the men apart and reveals a portrait of each one’s character.
