One of the nation's favourite DJs is making his comeback for two nights on the island in 2022.
A pre-Paddy's Day Fatboy Slim gig is taking place in Dublin early next year, which will be music to the ears of fans of the English DJ.
Dublin's 3 Arena will host the world-renowned DJ for the special event which will take place on Wednesday, March 16. Two days later, he will head up north to the SSE Arena in Belfast for a gig on Friday, March 18.
The creator of such dancefloor hits as 'Praise You', 'Weapon of Choice' and 'Right Here, Right Now' has always been a huge draw in Ireland. His most recent appearance here was also at the 3 Arena in Dublin in 2019, where he took to the stage in March. He was also part of the Forbidden Fruit line-up in 2015, alongside Wu Tang Clan and Run The Jewels.
Fatboy Slim's most recent album release was in late 2020, a 'Back To Mine' album mix. It was more funk and soul focussed and even featured a remix of the classic 'Pink Panther' theme song.
The DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, had this to say about his music journey: "Everything I do revolves around being a DJ. Over the years I’ve dabbled with being a songwriter, a bassist, a pop star, and I occasionally remix and I occasionally produce I occasionally curate art. I occasionally curate film soundtracks. But it all revolves around being a DJ.”
Tickets for the Fatboy Slim gig in both Dublin and Belfast will go on general sale on Friday, September 24 at 9 am from Ticketmaster. Pre-sale tickets for Three Ireland customers go on sale on Wednesday, September 22 at 9 am. Ticket prices start at €49.95.
