The Burren Food Fayre is a showcase event for the Burren's thriving food sector, celebrateing and showcasing the Burren harvest. This October Bank Holiday, there will be 18 local artisan food producers; 4 cookery demonstrations covering preparing seafood, using local meats and artisan foods, gluten free baking and preparing dishes with foraged foods; talks on and tasting of wine and chocolate; and a workshop on home-made foods.
The Burren Masterchef competition is one highlight with categories for Secondary Schools and Adults, which all are invited to participate in with prizes such as a course for two at Bunratty Cookery School and Ballymaloe Cookery School and others for runners up. The Burren MASTERCHEF competition will see blind tastings by three judges: last year's winner Richard Morrison, Donnagh Gregson, Bunratty Cookery School and Chef, John Sheedy, of Sheedy's Hotel & Restaurant.
In the morning you can take part in Cattle Droving from Fanore to the Winterage above on the Burren and then head for Lisdoonvarna for your lunch and some fun at the Burren Food Fayre starting at 12.30pm with a Family Food Workshop for 9+and Wine tasting.
