Bad News, Bears
Presented by Thornbud Theatre Company
Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Grief. The process can leave a person reeling through an array of anguished emotions as they struggle towards the final stage, Acceptance. When the last words she wants to hear are 'Sweetheart, you have to be a bit more grown up about this...', accepting is a big challenge for young Emma. As the teeth marks of time begin to gnaw away at Emma's beloved teddy bear Snowy, Emma has some painful truths and harsh realities to wake up to; and bad news is about to come crashing her way.

This Play is specifically for sixteen year olds and up wards. People should come to see this play as it reflects everyday social deprivation in our communities and wider societies, be they in Dublin suburbs, Naples neighbourhoods or Paris ghettos. It mirrors a clash of two cultures, a notion of inclusion and exclusion; jealousy at play and where young people are brought up from the same area but are raised quite differently. This play brings about what’s rebellious and also cracks open what’s hidden within societies.
