We all love it when we stumble over a hidden gem of a movie, but our Netflix subscriptions (whilst very handy) can leave our choices stuck in the mainstream and looking for something alternative.
Dublin's film lovers will be delighted to hear of Cabaret Noise, a brand new movie night which will hold a series of screenings of "cinema's greatest and least seen oddities", and the best part is they are completely free to attend. Jean-Claude Van Damme's 'Replicant' will be screened as part of the 'You Will See That Giant of a Man' series, but first up is 'Joe Bullet' from 1973.
Banned in apartheid South Africa, it follows a black man in 1970's South Africa, who uses his forbidden body to save his local football team. Check out the trailer.
The first series of Cabaret Noise will be screening in The Darkroom in Stoneybatter starting this Monday May 6th at 7PM.
Keep an eye on their Facebook page for their full list of movies and future events.
