The third annual Alltech Craft Brews & Food Fair, Ireland’s largest craft beer festival, will take place on the 27th February – 1st March in the Convention Centre Dublin, and it’s line up ain’t too shabby.
The festival will take place over three days, and will include a Six Nations event, The Craft Beer Grandslam, before the Ireland vs England game is played on the big screens, which will be hosted by Hector Ó hEochagáin. As if us beating the English while sitting in a beer garden wasn’t good enough, there’s also going to be live performances over the weekend from The Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow, Booka Brass Band, Amazing Apples, and Interskalactic.
Hector summed it up perfectly himself, “Beer, food, sport and music all under one roof – what more could you ask for? Plus, the beer grand slam is a great warm up for the crowd before the big rugby game.”
As usual the bars will be well stocked with over 60 local and international breweries serving over 300 different brews, and if you’re feeling peckish you can avail of the “Pair and Taste” food trail that’ll be telling you what foods and drink to combine. And if you don’t fancy that, just eat and drink a bit of everything, with Man of Aran Fudge, Donal Skehan’s Skoff Pies, Bretzel Bakery, Sheridans Cheesemongers, Ballymaloe and O’Donnells Crisps all at the festival, it won’t be long till you find something amazing.
New to this year’s festival is a craft beer shop onsite, stocked with exhibiting brews for visitors to purchase and enjoy at home with family and friends, so you can take home some of that fancy beer you never seem to see in your local off-license.
Tickets are now on sale from 15 euros and you can get them by clicking over here which includes entry and four tasting tokens. Get on it people, we wouldn't steer you wrong.
