Ireland hasn't really produced any notable works of science-fiction. Unless you count (gulp) Space Truckers back in 1996.
Ruairi Robinson's debut, The Last Days on Mars, might have been a bit of a misfire, but we've got real hope for his follow-up.
This "proof-of-concept" trailer details a distant future where mankind has begun colonisation by faster-than-light space travel. How do they do this?
By harvesting the eggs of the largest creature ever witnessed. The script, which is written by Fight Club's Jim Uhls, is currently being shopped along with Robinson's trailer to various movie houses.
From what we gather from this teaser, it looks like it's a cross between Moby Dick and Alien. Which, frankly, sounds incredible.
