Saoirse Ronan was appearing on BBC Radio 1 with Alice Levine to discuss her Oscar-nominated performance in Ladybird when the pair began to talk about the upcoming awards and who Saoirse might like to accompany her on the night.

It turns out it’ll probably be her mother Monica or best friend ‘Eileen’ who we keep hearing about. When it came to bringing a partner she revealed she’d probably wait for around 10 dates before inviting someone to the Oscars.
