His most recent big screen efforts in a lead role have taken some heavy criticism as of late but maybe he'll have more luck on the small screen.
Robert De Niro will play notorious ponzi scheme mastermind Bernie Madoff in the HBO movie, Wizard of Lies.
The first trailer has been released and from the looks of things, De Niro's Madoff will be experiencing a great degree of guilt during the movie. One would hope so considering he swindled up to 65 billion dollars from investors.
The film, which also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Kristen Connolly, and Lily Rabe will broadcast on HBO in May. There's been no official announcement just yet but don't be surprised to see it air on Sky Atlantic shortly afterwards.
