Ryan Reynolds is back as the Merc with the Mouth with both characters from the original as well as new ones, like Domino played by Zazie Beetz and Cable played by Josh Brolin, joining the cast.
We’re being careful to not give away any spoilers because they really are the worst so we’re letting you know the very last post-credits scene that was cut from the movie context-free.
The scene, which was shot, showed Deadpool in a new-born ward, standing next to a crib with the name-tag 'A Hitler'. Deadpool goes back and forth before finally deciding to do the evil deed we know is coming. The superhero tells a crying baby in another crib, “Shut up Ira, you’ll thank me someday!”
The film's writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick talked to Comicbook.com about the scene, with Wernick saying: "I think it was cut just because, it was at the very, very end, and it left the audience with this, 'Oh?' It's like, 'Sure, it's baby Hitler, but it is a baby. It's kind of weird to watch that! "
"We are Deadpool but there is a line we can't cross," Wernick added with Reese concluding "Baby killing might be that line."
Wernick additionally revealed to UpROXX that an earlier draft of the scene portrayed Deadpool as "standing over baby Hitler and say[ing], “God, that is a toughie.” He finds a Sharpie and draws a moustache on the baby – a little baby moustache – and says “Maximum effort!"
So yeah, while the scene is in keeping with the franchise’s off-kilter, R-rated sense of humour, it was pretty effin dark.
