In our humble opinion, it was one of the best films of last year and a sequel of sorts had been mooted since it did solid business at the box-office, but details were scarce - up until now.
Sicario was as tense as they come and a generally superb thriller - it should've been nominated for a heap of Oscars, but may have been too edgy for The Academy. Word on the sequel is that it will centre on Benicio Del Toro's character. Yes, that absolute bad ass.
According to THR, Green Room helmer Jeremy Saulnier was the frontrunner to direct, but couldn't work the schedule so instead Italian helmer Stefano Sollima will call the shots. He's best known for the series, Gomorra.
The title is Soldado, which is Spanish for Soldier and will see the return of Josh Brolin also, but likely not Emily Blunt.
Can't. Wait.
