A new film called Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, based on the life of American serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, burglar, and necrophile Ted Bundy, is currently in the works.
Zac Efron takes on the role of Bundy while Lily Collins plays his longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who refused to believe his crimes for years.
John Malkovich has also been cast as Edward Cowart, the judge who presided over Bundy's trial, while another big addition has just been announced.
Jim Parsons, best-known for playing Sheldon in hit comedy series The Big Bang Theory, will portray Larry Simpson, the lead prosecutor during Bundy’s highly televised 1979 murder trial, leading to his execution in 1989, in the film.
Other co-stars include Kaya Scodelario (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Skins), in the role of Bundy’s ex-wife, Carole Ann Boone, who had an ongoing relationship with Bundy that lasted through his trial, as well as Haley Joel Osment as Collins’ character’s other love interest, Westworld’s Angela Sarafyan, The Americans’ Dylan Baker as Utah prosecutor David Yokum, Burn Notice alum Jeffrey Donovan as defence attorney John O’Connell, and Billions’ Terry Kinney as Detective Mike Fisher.
First look pics at Efron and Collins in their roles were revealed last month but still more pictures from production have been teased on social media since.
Joe Berlinger directs and there has been no release date announced just yet.
