Tessa Thompson will reunite with her Thor: Ragnarok castmate Chris Hemsworth on the forthcoming Men in Black spinoff.

The pair head up the cast of the Sony-rebooted franchise, with the first film scheduled for release next summer and directed by F. Gary Gray (Fast & Furious 8, Straight Outta Compton).

However, it's believed that there are plans to introduce new characters, which means that the pair will not reprise the roles of Agent K and Agent J that were originally played by Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.

THR report that the reboot will be more "of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope" and while Hemsworth is not fully confirmed for the film, the deal is near completion.

Thompson's star is firmly on the ascent with recent roles in Annihilation and is currently shooting Creed 2, while Hemsworth, of course, will be next seen in Avengers: Infinity War.
