The Stephen King-aissance, if you can call it that, is continuing apace and another movie based on the author's works is headed towards cinemas.

There's already 'It: Chapter Two', 'Doctor Sleep', the TV series 'Castle Rock' and there's also an adaptation of 'The Tommyknockers' - the book that Stephen King can't remember writing because he was so out of it on drugs - in the works too. 'Pet Sematary', for those that didn't read it, was published in 1983 and follows a family that moves to rural Maine and discovers a pet cemetery in the woods behind their house that's eventually revealed to be a burial ground for Native Americans and has the ability to bring dead animals back to life.

So, y'know, family friend fun really. Jason Clarke, John Lithgow and Amy Seimetz round out the cast, whilst directors Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer directing a script from Jeff Buhler and David Kajganich, who also wrote the screenplay for Luca Guadagnino's reimagining of 'Suspiria'. Going by the trailer, it looks like it's a more faithful adaptation of the novel than a remake of the 1989 classic with Fred Gwynne and Denise Crosby - which is no bad thing because 'Pet Sematary' wasn't exactly a great movie to begin with.

'Pet Sematary' arrives in Irish cinemas on April 5th, 2019.
