Hollywood's obsession with rebooting old classic fairytales shows no signs of stopping with the forthcoming adaptation of Cinderella, starring (though it's not yet confirmed) Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother. But who - among all the actresses who'd kill for the role - will get to go to the ball? One name in the mix is our very own Saoirse Ronan who we think would look just fabulous in a pair of glass slippers. As per the folk at Variety, Ronan goes up against Swedish actress Alicia Vikander and British actress Gabriella Wilde for a leading role that most young actress can only dream about. The Hannah actress is said to be top of Director Mark Romanek's wishlist.
The Cinderella screenplay - considered a Disney fairytale though Mickey and his pals actually swiped it from the Brothers' Grimm - was written by Chris Weitz (American Pie's director) and sold to Disney back in 2010. Expect to see things move on this within the next year. Until then, we've got Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and Maleficent to look forward to.
