We've been speculating for quite some time about who'll sing the next Bond theme.
However, the clear favourite - or so we thought - has ruled himself out of the running. In a recent interview, Sam Smith confirmed that he is NOT doing the next Bond theme.
"It's definitely not me," said Smith. "People seem to think I'm doing it but I have no idea what's going on."
He did, however, reveal who's doing it - Ellie Goulding.
Yes, the Starry Eyed singer is Smith's choice for Spectre. There's been no official confirmation as of yet, mind, from Sony or anyone at the Bond camp, so we'd take this with a pinch of salt.
So, thoughts? Ellie Goulding's a decent singer, however her output doesn't really suggest that she's the right choice.
That being said, we've been surprised in the past and, very often, those you least suspect do the best Bond themes.
Example, you say? Gladys Knight. The soul singer did an absolute CRACKER of a tune and was completely unexpected at the time.
We'll know more when the time comes.
