Production hasn’t commenced yet on Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, but the director and its star are already teasing details from it.

The first plot details for the movie were unveiled last November while it was also previously revealed that the movie would be released on August 9th 2019, the fiftieth anniversary of actress Sharon Tate’s murder at the hands of Charles Manson’s followers.

The title of the movie, which reportedly looks at the intricacies of the movie business, at a period when it was undergoing great change, namely 1969, is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The Manson family murders are said to be featuring as some component in the Pulp Fiction-like tapestry of stories.

At Sony Pictures’ CinemaCon presentation on Monday night, Tarantino said that Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, the film’s two leading men, will be “the most exciting dynamic star duo since Paul Newman and Robert Redford.”

While Pitt was absent from the convention, DiCaprio supported Tarantino on the Caesars Palace stage, saying that the film has “one of the most amazing screenplays [writer-director Tarantino] has ever written.”

“It takes place at the height of the counterculture explosion,” Tarantino continued. “It takes place at the time of the hippie revolution, and it takes place at the height of new Hollywood.”
