Having gotten a first look at Rami Malek in the role of Freddie Mercury for Bohemian Rhapsody, a new film currently in production which is based on the iconic rock band Queen, more news surrounding the film has since emerged.
According to Deadline, none other than Mike Myers – who we haven’t seen in forever – is in negotiations to join the biopic which is directed by X-Men and The Usual Suspects helmer Bryan Singer.
Aside from Shrek and the Austin Powers trilogy, Myers’ best-known credit would be Wayne’s World and in what is quite the coinkydink, Myers’ titular character actually rocks out to the classic number ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ while in the car with his friends in one of the comedy’s most memorable scenes.
There is no word yet on who the actor would play but he is reportedly very busy at the moment playing Tommy Maitland, the host of ABC’s renovated The Gong Show. He even appeared in character on Jimmy Kimmel Live last May.
