M. Night Shyamalan came back with a bang with last year's Split, garnering some of the most positive reviews the director's had in years.

The stylish psychological thriller featured a standout performance from James McAvoy and an ending which had fans of Shyamalan's work eagerly awaiting the sequel. Today, Shyamalan revealed a good few details on the film and it's looking pretty good so far.

Firstly, the title has been revealed as Glass - which refers to Samuel L. Jackson's character in Unbreakable, Elijah Glass. Shyamalan confirmed that not only is Samuel L. Jackson returning as Mr. Glass, he also confirmed that Bruce Willis back as David Dunn. James McAvoy, as well, is also set to return as Kevin / The Beast / Hedwig / etc. Not only that, breakout star Anna Taylor Joy will also be returning as Casey Cooke.

Shyamalan is also reteaming with producing partners Blumhouse Pictures and Universal, and has set January 18th, 2019 as the release date for the film. We've said previously that Unbreakable is up there with Shyamalan's best work, and bringing back Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson and pairing them with James McAvoy is really going to be something.

There's no word yet on plot details, but it's clear that Shyamalan is more than excited about this - and so are we.

Here's the official synopsis for Glass.

"Following the conclusion of SPLIT, GLASS finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men."
