Jada Pinkett Smith has expressed her discontent with the new film All Eyez On Me, a biopic based on the life of the late rapper Tupac.

The actress, who is married to Will Smith and who was lifelong friends with Tupac after they met in Baltimore School for the Arts, took to Twitter earlier today to express how she felt about the new film, which was just released in US cinemas. Today also marks what would have been Tupac’s 46th birthday.

In a series of tweets, Jada states that All Eyez On Me is an inaccurate depiction of her relationship with Tupac and criticises the liberties the film took.

She also acknowledged that the depiction was not the fault of actors Demetrius Shipp Jr. or Kat Graham, who respectively play Tupac and Smith in the film, and commended their performances. However she maintains that she found the film to be ‘deeply hurtful.’
