Although 2015's 'Godzilla' had some moments where it excelled and some where it definitely lacked, the one thing pretty much everyone can agree upon was that its trailer - which used music from Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey' to brilliant effect - was the best thing about it.
So while the trailer for 'Godzilla: King Of The Monsters' wasn't exactly as mindblowing as the first one, there's still definitely a lot going on here and the hope that it'll make for a better movie, right? Right. Anyway, the official synopsis reads as follows:
"The new story follows the heroic efforts of the cryptozoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient superspecies, thought to be mere myths, rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance."
What's that all mean? Basically, a fatal four-way between Rodan (that's the flying pterodactyl-type thing), Mothra (kind of like a moth), King Ghidorah (the three-headed dragon) and Godzilla (who we already know about from the first one).
In between all this is 'Stranger Things' breakout star Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga and the hope that Kyle Chandler will break out his "clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" line in there as well.
'Godzilla: King Of The Monsters' arrives in Irish cinemas on May 30th, 2019.
