Bob Weinstein, younger brother of Harvey, has been accused of sexual harassment by a TV producer who worked as a showrunner on The Mist, which was produced by The Weinstein Company. The harassment allegedly took place during production of the series.

According to Variety, Amanda Segel claims that Weinstein made romantic advances towards her and repeatedly invited her for private dinners. She says this continued on and off for three months during 2016 until her lawyer informed executives at The Weinstein Company and told them Segel would quit unless Bob stopped contacting her about non-work related matters.

“ ‘No’ should be enough,” Segel told Variety. “After ‘no,’ anybody who has asked you out should just move on. Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that ‘no’ is enough from now on.”

A representative for Weinstein issued a brief statement to Variety denying that he engaged in any inappropriate behaviour.

“Bob Weinstein had dinner with Ms. Segel in LA in June 2016. He denies any claims that he behaved inappropriately at or after the dinner. It is most unfortunate that any such claim has been made,”

Bob is a co-founder of Miramax, The Weinstein Company and the founder of Dimension films. He has held the position of The Weinstein Company CEO since its founding in 2005.
