The sci-fi thriller starred Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.
Last year it emerged that Doug Liman would be back for a sequel to the hit film which was pretty much all-round well reviewed and made $370 million in the box office.
Liman spoke to Collider while promoting his new film, a war movie called The Wall, and revealed the title for the sequel: Live Die Repeat and Repeat.
The title is not only a throwback to the first movie’s Groundhog Day-esque plot. Live Die Repeat was Edge of Tomorrow’s tagline and it was a new name given to the movie for its home release in some areas.
Liman said: “we have an amazing story! It’s incredible! Way better than the first film, and I obviously loved the first film.”
He continued: “Tom [Cruise] is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when.”
The latter confirms the news that Blunt will also be returning for the sequel, which was initially up in the air, so good news everyone!
