Yet again, it's all about the reboots.
With Paul Feig announcing the central cast for the all-female Ghostbusters reboot, it's emerged that Disney is planning a reboot of its own.
Indiana Jones hit a landmine with Crystal Skull, essentially scuppering any chance of a new trilogy with Ford and... (shudder) Shia LaBeouf.
With Lucasfilm's sale to Disney, all their titles have come under the House of Mouse.
As we know, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is arriving at the end of the year and a number of spin-offs are in the work already.
Eager to turn Lucasfilm's back catalogue out, Indiana Jones seems the next likely candidate and none other than Chris Pratt is being approached to don the fedora and bull-whip.
On paper, he seems like the right choice right? He's a hot young actor, he's capable of action set-pieces and he's got that rugged charm with Harrison Ford make look so easy.
Yet, for us, he almost seems too safe a choice.
Here's our case.
To start off with, we are Chris Pratt fans. We loved him Parks & Recreation and we obviously loved him in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Putting him into Indiana Jones and expecting him to be Harrison Ford just doesn't work. For one, he doesn't look all that much like Harrison Ford.
Secondly, they're on two different wavelengths. Harrison Ford had that devil-may-care attitude that's essential to Dr. Jones.
Pratt has an exuberance that is completely off-kilter with the established character. Now, if by chance it was a different character but set in the same universe, sure. We can see that.
But Pratt as Dr. Jones doesn't sit all that well with us. We're open to being proven wrong, but we stick our flag in the No Camp.
How about you? Have your say!
