Really, at this stage, it's completely understandable if you don't believe there's going to be a third Bad Boys movie until you actually see it in a cinema and the IFCO rating comes up on screen.

TheWrap is reporting that Bad Boys For Life - the ill-fated and long-awaited third installment is now back on the release schedule for Sony and will arrive on January 17th, 2020. Previously, Joe Carnahan - who directed office favourite The Grey, the criminally under-watched Stretch and, uh, The A-Team - was linked to the film and had a script ready to go with a release date for June 2017.

Sadly, he left it behind last year citing scheduling conflicts and whatever else, with Martin Lawrence himself even saying that it was unlikely a third Bad Boys movie would see the light of day. However, two up-and-coming directors - Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah - have been tapped to take on the film, so if it actually ends up happening, then all the better.

So, over to you - can a third Bad Boys movie work? Do people still want to see Martin Lawrence and Will Smith knocking around Miami in a Porsche 911? Let us know in the comments!
