‘Thoroughbreds’ director Cory Finley will helm the independent movie.
Oscar winner, and not-so-subtle humblebrag, Allison Janney has joined the cast of ‘Bad Education’, a true story from ‘I think We’re Alone Now’ screenwriter Mike Makowsky.
The movie is about a district superintendent, played by Jackman, who tries to help students while embezzling school funds at the same time to lead a lavish life. The story is said to be based on Makowsky’s own high school experience.
Janney will play a business manager who is in on the scheme and enjoys the lifestyle while trying to cover the pair’s tracks. She won rave reviews for her portrayal of LaVona Golden in ‘I, Tonya’, one of which came from a very appreciative Ellen de Generes. Janney is a seven-time Emmy winner and is currently starring in CBS comedy ‘Mom’.
‘Bad Education’, which will be produced by Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik alongside Eddie Vaisman, Julia Lebedev, and Oren Moverman of Sight Unseen, is currently in pre-production.
