As the Sony Hack scandal shows no signs of waning, US online trade publication Deadline reckon that Sony will lose an absolute fortune with their unreleased comedy, The Interview.
In case you've been living under a rock, Sony pulled the film when hackers traced back to North Korea, threatened to attack cinemas that show the film. When all of the major chains refused to screen it, Sony was left with little option other than to pull the theatrical release completely.
Now, according to Deadline, the price that has been put on the financial loss for Sony is said to be between $60 and $70 million. Far from chump change.
Meanwhile Hollywood has slammed the cinema chains for doing what they believe is allowing the terrorists to win, with numerous A-listers from Jimmy Kimmel to Steve Carell lambasting the decision.
Sony has so far said there are no plans for them to release the film on any other platforms.
