Zack Braff has signed on to direct his first post Garden State movie, Swingles. The film will star Braff himself as a bachelor who struggles to meet women when his wingman gets hitched. He then finds a sharp-tongued female in the fine form of Cameron Diaz to take his place, and she proves hugely successful in helping him meet broads. The extremely talented actor/writer/director has just signed on for six episodes in the final season of Scrubs, which will now run into its ninth year, bringing back most of the original cast, but concentrating more on newer characters. Braff also directed a segment of the helming ensemble New York, I Love You. Sounds like more of an overt comedy than I was expecting, but Garden State is a cracking film, so I'm just glad he's directing again.
