Possibly the worst kept secret but it has been confirmed that Adele will sing the Bond theme for upcoming film Skyfall.

The singer fuelled rumours when she was spotted coming out of the iconic Abbey Road Studios recently where the soundtrack is being recorded and the rumours can now be confirmed she has indeed been penning the theme which is going to be called....wait for it....Skyfall! The track will be Adeles first single since her last album 21 which she is to be re releasing to include the Bond track.

The singer has long been tipped as the frontrunner for the job with Casino Royale theme composer Chris Cornell saying that Adele would be perfect for the job. Adele herself even hinted during an interview with Johnathan Ross earlier this year that she might be the person to record the official theme of the next Bond Film, when questioned about what she had coming up Adele said 'Well, this is actually a theme, what I've got to do. Wow, that's really giving something away'

Adele will have big shoes to fill as she will be following in the footsteps of Shirley bassey, Louis Armstrong, Paul Mccarthy,Tom Jones and Alicia Keys. Skyfall is set for release on the 26th October and will also mark the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise.
