As expected, the latest film in the ever expanding X-Men universe, Days of Future Past, destroyed the competition at the North American and Global box-office in a hugely impressive weekend opening.

The extremely well reviewed Bryan Singer helmed sequel took just under $91 million in it's first three days, a total which is expected to rise to $110 million for the four day Memorial Weekend in the US. It took a further $171 million globally,

At the opposite end of the aul' success spectrum was the critically slated Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore comedy, Blended. which died on its arse - taking $17.5 million for the same four days. Sandler is no longer guaranteed box-office; ten years ago this would've opened huge.

The Sandman is ttill one of our favourite interviews, though - gent.
