Juan Antonio Bayona has signed up to direct the World War Z sequel. World War Z starring Brad Pitt proved to be such a hit over the summer, Paramount Pictures have a sequel in the works already.

World War Z, based on a book, followed Brad Pitt as a UN employee as he attempts to combat a zombie plague. The second film is still in the very early stages but Bayona has been confirmed as a replacement to Marc Foster, who helmed the original film. Brad Pitt will be returning to produce again. As for what the plot of the movie will be about is still unknown, as it's so in the early stages there isn't any writers working on it yet.

Bayona previous movies include The Impossible, based on the 2004 tsunami that hit Thailand. The movie grossed at $180m and earned Naomi Watts a Academy Award nomination. There is no date for the release of the film but we expect it will land in early 2016.
