Paul Giamatti, Sacha Baron Cohen and Reese Witherspoon have all signed on to star in Alexander Payne's first film since 2004's Sideways, Downsizing. Giamatti will play a chap who decides that his life will be a lot easier if he was considerably smaller, so sets about shrinking himself. All we know is that Witherspoon plays someone he meets on his journey, while Cohen plays a "pint-sized foreigner." It all sounds a bit mental, but in fairness, if anyone can make this work then it's probably Payne. He pretty much launched Witherspoon's career with the brilliant satire Election; whilst his other directorial outings About Schmidt and Sideways were solid financial hits, and gained mucho awards recognition. You wouldnt bet against this doing the same.
