Casting rumours concerning the fifth film in the Alien franchise have started reaching fever pitch.

Ridley Scott is mulling over a budget with funding studio Fox, which will apparently be over $150 million, and has been circling numerous stars for the prequel. Girl With A Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace, Carey Mulligan and Natalie Portman have been linked with the lead, while both James Franco and Anne Hathaway have now expressed an interest in the film. Scott has been talking about a more back to basics approach this time, with one alien apparently being the focus of fear this time out.

Whatever way it works out, it's a mouth-watering prospect to have Scott back in the director's chair again.
