XXX: The Return of Xander Cage director, DJ Caurso has admitted that he was "really pissed" when Conor McGregor pulled out of the movie.

During the junket for the Vin Diesel starring action flick, Caruso was asked about McGregor, who was originally supposed to play the role eventually filled by UFC Middleweight Champion, Michael Bisping.

"I wasn't disappointed by it I was really pissed because Conor had said 'Yes' he was gonna do the movie. He got his ass kicked by Nate Diaz and then after that he sort of backed out..."

McGregor obviously decided to pull out of the film in the aftermath of his defeat to Nate Diaz at UFC 196. It just goes to show how determined the Crumlin native was to get back on top that he ditched a big movie role in order to concentrate fully on the second fight with Diaz.

As for Caurso, it seems like he probably did understand McGregor's reason for not doing the movie and as he says himself, it worked out for the best getting Micheal Bisping in the role instead.

"It all worked out great because Michael was a gift."
