As we've seen from the latest trailer from Rogue One, there's a LOT going on with it and there's a real sense that this film is unlike any Star Wars film that's come before it.

In fact, director Gareth Edwards and Lucasfilm head honcho Kathleen Kennedy has gone to great lengths to underline just how vastly different it is. However, there still are a few familiar points and the international trailer for the film tips us off about one such point.

If you've been following the news on Rogue One, you may know this already, but if you haven't and don't want to know, look away now.

Still here? Good. So, long story short, the International Trailer confirms what we learned at Star Wars Celebration. Essentially, the film centres around Felicity Jones' character, Jyn Erso, making contact with her father who's uniquely involved with the construction of the Death Star. Her father, as we know from Star Wars Celebration, will be played by Mads Mikkelsen.

None of the trailers or TV spots on this side of the world have specifically made mention of this plot point, however the International Trailer does. Why is that? Hard to say, really. It might simply be about giving it more footage for us to fawn and over-analyse or it could be just a choice for the trailer-editing people.

Speaking of, here's the trailer in question.

That shot of the AT-AT getting hit with a rocket launcher looks incredible. Never gets old and we've watched the trailer, like, a hundred times since it was released.

December 12th can't come quick enough.
