Stop dumping on our childhood nostalgia, Screen Junkies! The Santa Clause is a holiday classic and not, as you say, a movie ‘you think is a classic because you were a kid when it came out and didn’t know any better.’
If you’re a fan of the Tim Allen-starring The Santa Clause, you may not want to watch the following.
As well as pointing out the usual plot holes – such as questioning what would have happened if a woman or a child had put on the Santa suit – the latest from the Youtube channel also argues that basically all the characters are jerks, that there’s much darker content in the film than you’d think (well, have you seen It’s a Wonderful Life? It’s darkest before the dawn!), and indicates Tim Allen’s dodgy past.
So much for holiday cheer!
