Ahead of its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh next month, the first teaser trailer for Irish comedy The Young Offenders has surfaced online.

Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, The Young Offenders follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor (Alex Murphy) and Jock (Chris Walley), as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of coke.

Peter Foot wrote and directed the film having previously cut his teeth in TV with the likes of Republic of Telly as well as the video for The Rubberbandits' Horse Outside. The film, which will have its premiere on Friday the 8th of July at the Galway Film Fleadh also stars comedian PJ Gallagher and The Fear's Hilary Rose.

The Young Offenders will be released in Irish cinemas on the 16th of September.
