If you're being attacked by giant sea monsters, the best thing to do is crack out the Jaeger out. No, not that kind of Jaeger lads; We're talking giant robots controlled by soldiers, DUH!
These enormous artificial beasts take on some, well, rather enormous 'real' beasts in Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim and we got our first peek at the gang in action in a brand new trailer for the film. Del Toro is taking the Director's chair for the first time since Hellboy 2: The Golden Army to direct a monster movie about aliens called Kaiju that invade Earth from the dark and murky depths of, you guessed it, the Pacific Ocean. There's a portal to another dimension down there don'cha know!
Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman and Charlie Day are among the cast and the script comes from Clash of the Titans screenwriter Travis Beacham. Apparently he's already been signed on to write a sequel.
Pacific Rim hits Irish cinemas on July 12, 2013.
