Horror films have a lot in common in sci-fi films, often using it's genre to mask a subtext or metaphor that wouldn't work inside any other type of movie. With the new Irish horror movie Limp, that is still very much the case, but pushing that to its extremes.

A very lonely man begins to play out a relationship with a woman that he himself has killed, with the film chronicling his desperate need for companionship, even as her corpse and their relationship slowly begins to deteriorate.

Stark and boundary-pushing, this is sure to worm its way inside the minds of every viewer, and could potentially be a major talking point and game-changer for Irish Horror in general.Chosen from over three-thousand submissions, director Shaun Ryan's feature film Limp will be one of only three feature films show-cased at the 1st Annual Indie Cork Film Festival on the 18th of October.

Critically acclaimed director Ken Loach (The Wind That Shakes The Barely, Looking For Eric, Kes) will be the residing patron of the festival. So if you're looking for something a bit different from your cinema going-experience this weekend, look no further.
