Well, they kept this one a secret. Paramount Pictures are releasing another Anchorman.

Well, not quite. It's Anchorman 2 except with 95% of the jokes replaced with new ones. Anchorman 2ish?

In an interview with the New York Times, Adam McKay, the writer and director of Anchorman 2 remarked, that initially the filmmakers were planning on releasing an extended, uncut version but after some deliberating, McKay, Will Ferrell and the editing team decided to just make a whole other movie, 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues...Continued'.

"We started talking and realized, we can replace every single joke in the movie with another joke"

He continued, "there were a couple of jokes left for continuity", but with 763 brand new gags, to be precise, well over 90 % of the film is brand spanking new.

The new movie will be released in about 1,000 theaters across the US, UK and Ireland on Friday the 28th February, but for one week only. Both versions, however, will be available on video in April.

The new movie is going to be longer than the original, as well, with Mr. McKay claiming that it is a "supersized" version. So, Anchorman fans can expect over 2 hours of new material.

The storyline will remain the same remember, but, with 763 new jokes, it's basically a new movie, except with more feelings of déjà vu.

“This is a stitched up, Frankenstein version" McKay added.

Yeah, so this is probably more exciting than the first Anchorman 2 (if that makes any sense). Thanks, Paramount.
