Although there's an argument that 2001: A Space Odyssey is overpraised or maybe even just a little bit too dense to comprehend, you can't deny for one second how groundbreaking it was and - seeing this modern trailer for it - how ageless it is.

A new 70mm print of the film is about to be released, struck from the original negative and without any digital restoration, editing or remastered effects. Per the blurb attached written by some guy called Christopher Nolan, "(this) is the unrestored film - that recreates the cinematic event that audiences experienced fifty years ago.

Take a look at the trailer. We've also confirmed with our colleagues at the Irish Film Institute that a screening of this 70mm print will eventually happen with times and dates to be confirmed in the near future - so keep your eyes peeled for that as it's likely to sell out pretty quickly.
