Sigh.
We're fully aware that, y'know, original ideas are a rare commodity in mainstream cinema. We get that.
Studios are under increased pressure to come up with box-office success and, oftentimes, that means creating a new film out of parts from old ones. Sequels, prequels, reboots and so on.
So when we heard that they were making a sequel to Joe Dirt, the SNL-spinoff character from 2001, we really did take a moment and look off wistfully into the middle distance.
Is this what we've come to? Is this where we're at as a species?
Christ. Just look at the trailer already and move on.
